Ten to leave SM Entertainment while remaining active in NCT and WayV

Ten’s exclusive contract is set to conclude on April 8 following extensive discussions about his future direction

Singer Ten will leave SM Entertainment while continuing his activities as a member of NCT and WayV, the agency confirmed on Monday.

According to SM Entertainment, Ten’s exclusive contract will officially conclude on April 8 following extensive discussions about his future direction. The decision was described as mutual, with both parties agreeing to end their long-standing professional relationship.

“After a lengthy discussion with Ten regarding his future activities, we have decided to end his exclusive contract on April 8,” SM Entertainment said in a press release.

Despite his departure from the agency, Ten is expected to remain involved in group promotions. SM Entertainment stated it would maintain communication with the artist to support his participation in NCT and WayV activities where possible.

“We will continue to stay in close communication to explore opportunities for Ten to participate in WayV and NCT activities,” the agency said, adding, “We thank Ten, who has shown outstanding capabilities as a group member and as a solo artist since his debut. We will sincerely support his new journey ahead.”

After the announcement, Ten took to Instagram to address fans in heartfelt letter.

The announcement follows a separate confirmation that fellow NCT member Mark will also depart SM Entertainment and the group this week after a decade of activity, marking a period of transition for the agency and its flagship act.
